Please Note:
In many of the scripts, several characters can be played by one actor or
actress. I like to write plays with roles of varying sizes -- as many students do not have the time to commit to memorizing a large part.
All of these scripts can be performed in under an hour. I usually add dances between or during scenes to involve more students.
A Pirate's Tale
A daring adventure on the junior high seas. The Sea Hawk is a daring pirate who commands an all-female crew. His loyal first mate Meg is secretly in love with him. Come join Robin Hood and Ned and the band of Merry Men for an adventure deep in Sherwood Forest. Prince John's betrothed, Princess Catarina of Spain, arrives in England, but is waylaid by the evil Countess of Sussex and her henchman, the Sheriff of Nottingham. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Planet Astrologia
A combination of Star Trek (both new and old) and Star Wars. Captain James T. Kook, the manly captain of the USSJH, has a girlfriend on every planet and problems with anger management. He is advised by Vulcan crewmember Mr. Smock, who has taken up a new passion for throwing pots (hence the smock). Mr. Spot, the ship's engineer, is constantly worried about the status of the ship's engines and barks for some mysterious reason. Nurse Chapstick is always armed with a needle or tube of lipstick. Villains include the Kling-tu commander, who is determined to destroy Kook, his archrival, and Amazonia, the Queen of the Universe. 26 pages. 12 Characters.

Klondike Fever
During the goldrush, Thaddeus Brown, a shy paleontologist, lands in Fortymile Creek in 1897 in search of mammoth fossils. Along the way he encounters Josie, a prospector's niece who's just found a fortune in gold on her claim and Robert Dalton, a recently impoverished conman. With the help of colourful characters like Stinky Clem, Ptarmigan Pete, and Jacques Noir, as well as a historical icon named Sam Steele, Thaddeus Brown finds everything he's looking for in the wild and woolly Canadian north. 38 pages. 18 characters.
Dick and Jane Go to Egypt
Dick Carter, the great-grandson of archaeologist Howard Carter, is determined to find the remains of Cleopatra and Mark Antony. Accompanied by his assistant Jane, Dick journeys to Egypt, where he encounters Aphrodite, a Canadian pop-star, who just happens to be Gladys, an acquaintance from elementary school. Aphrodite is shooting a music video in the Valley of the Kings and could really use a historical consultant, since she isn't getting much cooperation from Jeani Francois, the ex-popstar who is directing her video. In the desert, Dick and Jane encounter a pair of whiny children and a group of fierce desert warriors. This script features fewer lines for the key characters, and a number of small and medium-sized roles, including dancing mummies!30 pages. 25 characters
